So this working mom thing....

I have a newfound hatred of Mondays because they are so friggin' busy. From start to finish, yesterday was hell. I had to go grocery shopping & didn't get home until after 10 p.m. Ew.

I'd seriously consider being a SAHM only because it would give me more time to do things during the day. That mountain of laundry wouldn't look so daunting if I knew I had the whole day to throw in a few loads.

It kills me leaving my baby girl each day, but I'm glad I have adult conversation to look forward to. And that smile when I come to get her each day is phenomenal. Best part of my day, hands down.

  2. Oh Angie, I'd love to say it gets easier...but it doesn't! I still miss my kids every day and sometimes I call the house, knowing that nobody is home and I'll hear Dyl on the voice mail!

The laundry...ugh! The clothes just get bigger, but there's not as much of it. I know Hannah has had some reflux issues, so I know she's got LOTS of icky laundry...and being in close vicinity means you do too! That part definitely gets better. It's not as gross! That being said...I am fully aware of the entire mountain range of laundry in my basement at this very moment. And I know it's there, because I intentionally closed the door on it this morning!

I do lots of grocery shopping after the kids go to bed. It's especially sucky in the winter when I don't want to leave the house anymore! But, in the summer we walk or take the bus to the farmer's market together on Saturdays, and that's a lot of fun!

As a fellow working mom (and I've been at it for 10 years now), all I can say is keep trying to find the balance! Enjoy the adult conversation. And actually sitting down to eat lunch. The laundry will still be there tomorrow. Do a load of underwear to get you through the next few days so you can relax. And just enjoy every minute you have with Hannah!
